API Keys

OpenRouter API Key

Required for all AI-powered features across all modules.

How to Get Your Key

  1. 1.Visit openrouter.ai/keys
  2. 2.Sign up or log in to your account
  3. 3.Create a new API key
  4. 4.Copy the key and paste it into Settings

What AI Features Does This Unlock?

PageSpeed Insights API Key

Optional but recommended to avoid rate limiting on PageSpeed audits.

How to Get Your Key

  1. 1.Go to Google Cloud Console
  2. 2.Create a new project or select existing
  3. 3.Enable PageSpeed Insights API
  4. 4.Create credentials → API key
  5. 5.Copy and paste into Settings

Note: Without an API key, you may encounter 429 rate limit errors after a few requests. The free tier includes 25,000 requests per day.

AI Configuration

AI Model Selection

Choose which AI model to use for all AI features. OpenRouter supports multiple models from different providers.

Available Actions:

  • • Search for specific models
  • • Refresh model list from OpenRouter
  • • Select your preferred model
  • • Model choice applies to all AI features

AI Writing Tone

Set the tone and style for AI-generated content. This affects all AI outputs across the extension.

Theme

Light / Dark Mode

Toggle between light and dark themes for the extension UI. Your preference is saved and persists across sessions.

Dark Mode

Default theme, easier on the eyes in low-light environments

Clean, bright interface for well-lit workspaces

Security & Privacy

Your Data is Private

All settings, API keys, and data are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to external servers except when using AI features (OpenRouter) or PageSpeed Insights (Google).

API keys are stored locally using Chrome's secure storage API
Settings sync across devices if you're signed into Chrome
AI chat history is stored locally, never uploaded
No analytics or tracking of your usage

How to Access Settings

  1. 1.Open Developer's Toolkit side panel
  2. 2.Click the Settings icon (gear icon) in the navigation or home page
  3. 3.Configure your API keys, model selection, and preferences
  4. 4.Changes are saved automatically
