Words as the moving image

kinetic type
Words are the main visual and carry the motion.

one word per beat
A single word owns each beat and cuts on the downbeat.

variable-font axes (wght, wdth)
Weight and width animate continuously on one variable font.

weight morph
Letters go thin → black and back as a wave passes through them.

width stretch
Condensed ↔ extended, over time or per word.

per-letter animation
Each glyph gets its own transform and delay.

fit-to-width
A word is sized to fill a set share of the frame, e.g. 77%.

outline / stroke text
Hollow letters, often used as background rows.

echo rows / stacked repeats
Copies above and below scroll in alternate directions around a solid word.

marquee / ticker
A continuous horizontal crawl.

sliced / split text
Letters cut into strips that slide apart and re-join.

scramble / decode
Random characters resolve into the word, left to right.

RGB split / chromatic aberration
Colour copies offset on a hit, then converge.
tracking in / out
Letter-spacing animates wider or tighter.

baseline wave
Letters ride a sine wave.

text on a path
Letters follow a curve or a circle.

typewriter cursor
A blinking block after typed text.

serif italic contrast
A soft serif line against heavy sans changes the mood.

mono label / technical caption
Uppercase mono, wide tracking, small; the system voice.

knockout text
Letters cut out of a solid block, showing what moves behind.

lockup / wordmark
A fixed arrangement of name and mark.

accent period
A brand-coloured full stop that becomes the film’s motif.
