Tracks your visibility across
And checks all 14 AI crawlers against your robots.txt, including the training only ones most tools ignore.
You optimised for Google. Your customer asked ChatGPT.
Someone in your market just typed your exact category into an AI assistant. They got a confident answer with three companies named in it. If you were not one of them, you did not lose a ranking. You were never in the room.
Here is the part that stings. Most sites that get left out are not losing on content quality. They are losing because a single line in a file they have never opened tells the AI crawler to go away. The crawler obeys. Your pages never get read. The model answers without you, forever, and no rank tracker on earth will tell you it happened.
Your Search Console traffic drops and you assume it is an algorithm update. It is not. It is the answer box that replaced the click.
AI crawlers decide whether you exist in AI answers
in robots.txt is all it takes to be invisible to one of them
traditional SEO tools will warn you about it
Search did not die. It moved.
Ten years of SEO practice assumed one thing: a person types a query, gets a list of links, and clicks one. Every tool you pay for was built on that assumption.
The query still happens. The list often does not. The answer arrives already written, assembled from whichever sources the model could reach, parse and trust. Being reachable, parseable and trustworthy is now its own discipline. People call it GEO, generative engine optimisation. It is not a rebrand of SEO. It is a second scoreboard running next to it, and almost nobody is checking their score on it.
Ranknest checks both. Same crawl, two scores.
The old scoreboard, SEO
- Rankings
- Backlinks
- Click through rate
- Page speed
- Core web vitals
The new one, GEO
- Can the AI crawler fetch you
- Can it extract your content
- Is your structured data readable
- Does the model trust the source
- Do you answer the question directly
- Does llms.txt exist
- Is your entity unambiguous
One desktop app. Both scoreboards. No monthly bill.
Ranknest is a desktop application for macOS and Windows. It crawls your site with a real browser, scores it against 65 rules split across classic SEO and AI readiness, tells you which AI engines currently mention you and which mention your competitors instead, and gives you the exact fix for every problem it finds.
It runs on your machine. Your crawl data never touches our servers, because we do not have any servers in the path. When it needs live search data it calls the same APIs the big platforms call, using your key, at your cost, with nothing added on top.
Runs locally
Embedded database, crawler on your hardware, no upload
Your API keys
Wholesale data prices, no per seat markup
Both scores
45 SEO rules and 20 GEO rules from one crawl
One payment
No renewal, no seat count, no usage tier
Fourteen bots decide whether AI can see you. Here is how to check in ten seconds.
Ranknest reads your robots.txt and tests all fourteen against it, grouped by what each one actually does. Search bots put you in AI answers right now. User bots fetch your page when someone pastes your link into a chat. Training bots decide whether the next model knows you exist at all.
Blocking a training bot is a strategic choice. Blocking a search bot by accident, which is what usually happens, removes you from an answer surface entirely and nothing tells you.

3 of 14 blocked
Every row tells you which one it is, what blocking it costs you, and the exact line to change.
Being crawlable is step one. Being cited is the point.
Once the bots can reach you, the question changes. Do the models actually name you when someone asks about your category, or do they name the three companies you are trying to beat?
AI Visibility
Which prompts mention your domain, which of your pages get cited, how your share of voice compares to competitors, and the AI search volume sitting behind each prompt.
Brand Performance
How often your brand appears in AI answers versus rivals, the sentiment of those mentions, and the drivers behind the number.
AI Responses
Ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the same question at once and read all four answers side by side. You find out who gets recommended in your category in about fifteen seconds.
Prompt Research
The questions people actually type into AI assistants in your category, grouped by topic, with volume attached.
GEO Score
Seven weighted categories: AI Crawl Access at 25 points, Extractability at 20, Structured Data at 18, E-E-A-T at 12, Answerability at 10, llms.txt at 8, Entity Clarity at 7. Every point loss comes with the fix.
llms.txt Generator
Generates the file AI assistants read to understand your site, both llms.txt and the long form llms-full.txt. It crawls your site, groups pages into sections, and writes the summaries with whichever AI model you pick. Files are saved as cards you can re-download, sync, or refresh automatically once a day.
65 checks. 13 report tabs. A crawler you actually control.
Most audit tools give you a number and a list of error codes. Ranknest gives you two numbers, Site Health from 45 classic SEO rules and GEO Score from 20 AI readiness rules, from a single crawl. Every issue explains why it matters and how to fix it, in words, not codes.
Real JavaScript rendering
The crawler drives a real browser, so pages that build themselves client side get seen the way Google and the AI crawlers see them. It also gives you a raw versus rendered diff, which flags content that only exists once JavaScript has run. If your content is invisible without JavaScript, you find out here.
Configure the crawl, not just the page count
Pages, depth, concurrency, timeout, politeness delay, user agent, robots.txt obedience, subdomains, include and exclude URL patterns. Three presets to start from: Quick scan, Standard, Deep crawl. Settings are remembered per site, so staging and production keep separate profiles.
- Crawlability and 404s
- Indexability
- On-Page
- Content
- Internal Linking
- Speed
- HTTPS and Security
- Markup
- International
- AI Crawl Access
- llms.txt
- Structured Data
- Extractability
- Answerability
- E-E-A-T
- Entity Clarity
A switched off check does not run at all, so it costs you nothing in time or API spend.
Custom JavaScript
Write your own check and run it on every crawled page. Extract a price, count elements, detect a cookie wall, pull a value out of a data layer. Results become columns you can export. Six ready made snippets ship with it. This is the Screaming Frog power user feature, in a friendlier editor.
Audit history and export
Every audit is kept with its date and both scores. Open any previous run. This is what turns "I fixed some things" into "here is what the fixes did". Export any section on its own, or the whole audit as one file, to CSV or straight to Google Sheets.
Thirteen report tabs
See your site the way a crawler walks it.
An interactive link graph with drag and drop, orphan page detection, link equity scoring, and a mini map per page. Orphan pages are the ones nothing links to, which means nothing crawls them, which means they may as well not be published. They are usually the last thing anyone finds and the fastest thing to fix.
Ten reports that answer "what should I work on today"
All ten run on your own Search Console data, so none of it is estimated. The Strikers is the one people open first: every keyword where you sit at position 2 to 5. Those are not opportunities, they are near misses, and near misses are the cheapest wins on the internet.
| Report | What it answers |
|---|---|
| The Strikers | Which keywords sit at position 2 to 5, the closest wins available |
| Get More Clicks | Positions 6 to 10, one push away from page one |
| Rank Higher | High volume keywords stuck on page 2 and beyond |
| Cannibalization | Which of your pages compete with each other and split the clicks |
| Indexation | What is indexed, what is not, and why |
| Search Trends | What moved over the last 28 days |
| AI Traffic | Visits arriving from AI assistants |
| Social Traffic | Visits from social platforms |
| Referrals | Which sites and domains send you traffic |
| All Reports | The overview across everything |
The research tools you were paying separately for
Keyword Research
Real search volume, difficulty and intent, not estimates
SERP Analyzer
Reads the live SERP on seven engines: Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Google AI summary, YouTube and Amazon. Then AI pulls out intent, facts, related keywords and content angles from what is actually ranking.
Backlink Analyzer
Full backlink profile, referring domains, anchor text, and the link gaps between you and competitors
Competitor Analysis
Traffic estimates, ranked keywords, and who you are genuinely competing with rather than who you think you are
And then it writes the thing.
AI Flow
A node based content studio. Chain research, generation and editing steps together on a canvas and run the whole chain. Build the workflow once, reuse it on every article.
AI Carousels
Instagram carousels generated with gpt-image-2, from 48 designer templates across 10 style presets. Edit the copy per slide, attach your own images, and refine the image prompt directly, including an [attached image] token so your own photo becomes part of the generated art.
AI Chat
Chat that can read your own data. It has your reports, your audits and your Search Console figures, so it answers with your real numbers instead of general advice you could have got anywhere.
Installed to first finding in about four minutes
Install and sign in
Download for macOS or Windows and sign in with your Promptslove membership. The Mac build is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a security warning.
Add your API keys
Paste in DataForSEO for search data and OpenAI or OpenRouter for the AI features. Connect Google Search Console in a click if you want the reports. Every key is stored on your machine only. You can skip this and explore in demo mode first.
Run a crawl
Enter your domain, pick a preset, hit go. The crawler runs on your hardware with a real browser. No queue, no credit meter, no "upgrade to crawl more pages".
Read both scores and start fixing
Site Health and GEO Score, with every issue explaining why it matters and how to fix it. Export the whole thing to CSV or Google Sheets and hand it to whoever does the work.
Your keys. Wholesale prices. Nothing added on top.
Here is what nobody selling you an SEO subscription wants to explain. They do not own the search data either. They buy it from the same data providers you can buy it from, then resell it to you inside a seat price.
Ranknest cuts that out. You connect the official APIs directly, in your own account, and you pay the provider's published rate. We never see the key, never proxy the request, and never add a cent to it.
DataForSEO
SERP data across seven engines, keyword volume and difficulty, backlinks, competitor data, and AI visibility. Pay as you go with no monthly commitment. Google organic SERP results run $0.60 per 1,000 requests on the standard queue, or $2.00 per 1,000 if you want them live in about six seconds. Backlink data is $0.05 per 1,000 backlinks returned. Minimum top up is $50 and new accounts get $1 of trial credit, so you can test with real data before spending anything.
OpenAI or OpenRouter
Powers the AI summaries, the content tools, the carousels and the chat. Pick your provider and your model per feature. OpenRouter gives you every major model behind a single key, so you can run a cheap model for bulk work and an expensive one where it matters.
Google Search Console
Connect a property in a click. Every report above runs on it. It is free, it is your own data, and it is the most underused asset most sites have.
Three keys, one afternoon, and the data bill is yours forever at cost.
| What you ran | Volume | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Live SERP lookups | 2,000 | $4.00 |
| Keyword volume and difficulty | 10,000 keywords | about $1.20 |
| Backlinks pulled | 50,000 | $2.50 |
| Month total | about $8 |
That is a heavy month. Most people spend between $10 and $40. A Semrush Guru seat costs
$249.95
for the same month, and Semrush is buying from the same kind of source you just did.
What you are paying now, and what you would pay instead
Here is the honest version. Ranknest does not do every single thing all of these tools do. Ahrefs has a bigger backlink index. Semrush has ad intelligence Ranknest does not touch.
But if you are a person who runs site audits, tracks keywords, checks backlinks, watches competitors, and now needs to know whether AI mentions you, this is the stack you are currently paying for, at list price.

All of the above categories, plus GEO
Plus about $240 a year of your own API usage. Year one, about $339.
Year one, you keep $8,105.
Year two, they bill you $8,444 again. Ranknest bills you nothing again, because there is nothing to bill. Three years in, the gap is over $24,000.
Cheaper stacks exist. Ahrefs Starter is $29, Otterly Lite is $25, Surfer Discovery is $49. Put together a lean stack and you are still at roughly $103 a month, or $1,236 a year, and you are still renting it. Ranknest is $99 once.
Prices checked August 2026 from each vendor's public pricing page, at monthly billing unless noted. Annual prepayment lowers most of them by roughly 17 to 20 percent. Ahrefs restructured its plans in March 2026. Surfer renamed its tiers in 2026, Standard is the $99 plan. Profound's Starter rate shown is its annual billing rate. API usage estimate assumes a moderately heavy month, your figure will differ.
Why it is an app you install, not a tab you log into
Your data stays put
The crawl runs locally into an embedded database on your machine. Your site structure, your Search Console figures and your competitor research never get uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload them to.
No vendor crawl limits
The crawler uses your CPU and your bandwidth. There is no page cap, no credit meter and no upgrade prompt at 500 URLs.
Your API costs, at cost
Covered above. It only works because the app runs where your keys are.
Signed and notarized by Apple
The macOS build is signed with a Developer ID and notarized, so it opens normally with no security warning and no right click workaround.
Updates arrive in the app
New features show up as a one click update. No migration, no re-onboarding.

Straight answers
$99 once. What is the catch?
There is no recurring revenue in it, which is the honest answer to why almost nobody else does this. Ranknest is sold with a Promptslove lifetime membership. You pay once, you get the app and its updates. The only ongoing cost is your own API usage, paid directly to the API provider at their published rate, and you can watch that meter yourself in your own account.
Do I really need my own API keys?
For live search data, yes. That is the design, and it is the reason the price works. You can install and explore in demo mode with sample data first. DataForSEO gives new accounts $1 of trial credit, so your first real crawl can cost you nothing while you decide.
Is this just a wrapper around an API?
No. The crawler, the 65 rules, the scoring, the JavaScript rendering, the custom JS engine, the link graph, the reports and the database all run on your machine. The APIs supply search data that nobody can generate locally, which is exactly the part every other tool is also buying in.
How is this different from Ahrefs or Semrush?
They tell you about Google. They do not tell you whether ChatGPT can fetch your site, whether Perplexity cites you, or whether one line in your robots.txt has removed you from an AI answer surface. They also charge per seat, every month, forever.
How is this different from Screaming Frog?
Screaming Frog is a great crawler and it costs $279 a year, every year. Ranknest crawls with a real browser, runs custom JavaScript per page the same way, and then adds keyword research, backlinks, Search Console reports, AI visibility and the GEO score on top. For less than one year of Screaming Frog, once.
What happens to my data?
It stays on your machine in a local database. There is no account sync, no cloud crawl store, and no telemetry pipeline carrying your site structure anywhere.
Does it work if I do not use Search Console?
Most of it does. The audit, the GEO score, the crawler matrix, the llms.txt generator, the keyword and SERP and backlink tools all work without it. The ten Search Console reports need a connected property, because they are built on your own Search Console data.
What if I already pay for one of these tools?
Then you already know what the annual bill looks like. Run both for a month and keep the one that tells you something the other did not.
Do I get updates?
Yes, in the app, at no extra cost. That is what the one payment covers.
Try it before you spend a cent on data
Install it. Run it in demo mode. Look at the audit, the GEO score and the crawler matrix with sample data and decide whether it is the tool you thought it was. Then add a key and point it at your own domain.
DataForSEO hands new accounts $1 of trial credit. That is enough to run your first real SERP pulls without topping up. If you decide it is not for you, you have spent nothing on data.
Find out today whether AI can see you
It takes about four minutes to install, connect and run the first crawl. At the end of it you will know exactly which AI crawlers you are blocking, what your GEO score is, and what to fix first.
You are either in the answer or you are not. Right now you do not know which.
One payment. macOS and Windows. Lifetime updates. No subscription, ever.
